Westside Recreation Centre is a world-class facility based on a lifestyle and wellness concept. Since 2000, we have been providing families with high quality and accessible recreation facilities, programs and services. The Fitness Attendant supports a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment at Westside Recreation Centre. This role works on the fitness floor to assist users of all abilities, promote safe equipment use, and uphold facility standards that reflect community, belonging, and accessibility.

The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Provide friendly, approachable customer service to all users, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment
- Monitor the fitness centre and track areas to ensure safe and respectful use of equipment and spaces
- Promote and enforce facility guidelines, with a focus on safety, accessibility, and shared space etiquette
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness spaces
- Report equipment maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Assist with set-up and takedown of fitness programs, classes, and booked spaces
- Respond to incidents and emergencies, providing First Aid/CPR as required
- Support a variety of users, including older adults, youth,



and participants in adapted or inclusive programs
- Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive team workplace

Work Term

- 2-3 Part-Time Positions Available
- Daytime and Evenings
- Specifically looking for the following shifts:

- Monday - Friday 7am-12pm
- Monday - Thursday 4-9pm

Qualifications/Skills Required:

- Must have current Alberta Approved First Aid training agency - CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid
- All applicants must be a minimum 18 years of age
- Minimum 1-year of customer service experience in any industry
- Current enrollment in BKin (or equivalent degree) or Exercise Science Diploma/Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma would be an asset
