Design Advanced Systems. Solve Complex Challenges. Build Technology That Matters.
This isn't another electrical design job.
Imagine designing highly engineered equipment that operates aboard some of the world's most advanced naval vessels—technology relied upon by allied defense organizations across the globe. If you're looking for meaningful engineering work where every project presents a new challenge and your designs have real-world impact, this opportunity delivers exactly that.
We're seeking an Electrical Designer who thrives on solving complex technical problems, enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and wants to see projects through the entire engineering lifecycle—from concept and design to testing, commissioning, and deployment.
If you're someone who takes ownership of your work, enjoys learning, and wants to be part of a collaborative engineering environment where innovation is encouraged, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Working On
You'll help design sophisticated electrical systems for large-scale engineered equipment used in demanding marine and industrial applications. Projects may include advanced handling systems, launch and recovery equipment, automated machinery, control systems, and other mission-critical technologies.
What You'll Do
- Design electrical systems from concept through final implementation.
- Interpret customer requirements, engineering specifications, and industry standards.
- Develop electrical schematics, layouts, and supporting technical documentation.
- Collaborate with mechanical,
systems, manufacturing, and software engineers.
- Support design reviews, analysis, verification, and validation activities.
- Assist with electrical testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and system integration.
- Prepare engineering reports and maintain detailed project documentation.
- Provide technical support throughout manufacturing, installation, and field commissioning.
- Participate in occasional travel supporting testing and commissioning activities.
Why Engineers Love This Opportunity
- Work on complex, one-of-a-kind engineering projects—not repetitive production work.
- Be involved in the complete engineering lifecycle.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and technical experts.
- Expand your knowledge in electrical design, controls, automation, testing, and systems integration.
- Highly collaborative engineering culture where your ideas matter.
- Stable organization supporting long-term, high-visibility projects.
- Competitive salary, annual bonus opportunity, comprehensive perks, retirement savings program, paid vacation, professional development, and tuition assistance.
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Eligible to obtain Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
designation through Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional Electrical Engineering or Electrical Design experience.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada for a minimum of five (5) years.
- Must be eligible to successfully obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program approval and Reliability Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:
- Large industrial equipment
- Engineered machinery
- Industrial electrical systems
- PLC or HMI controls
- Electrical testing and commissioning
- Field service or startup support
- Systems integration
- Troubleshooting complex electrical equipment
Who Will Be Successful
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes initiative without constant direction.
- Enjoys solving difficult technical problems.
- Works well within cross-functional engineering teams.
- Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Wants to continue learning and growing professionally.
- Takes pride in producing high-quality engineering work.
