MUST HAVE MINIMUM 5 YEAR EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING MATERIAL INDUSTRY
Amherst Supply Ltd. is a family-owned and operated store in the lumber, building supply, and agricultural feed industry. We are looking for a driven and organized individual to help in the day-to-day business operations of our store on Alma Street in Amherstburg. Sales people provide quick, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their building material needs and provide assistance with their projects. These associates work in cooperation with their supervisors and other sales associates from various departments of the store.
Major Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional Saturdays.
- Work with customers and contractors on their projects from start to finish.
- Provide customer estimates and special orders for windows, doors, decks, fences, garages, and new homes.
- Place and track non-stocked orders
- Building client/customer relationships.
- Ask open ended questions about customer's projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise.
- Ability to multitask.
- Describe features and benefits of merchandise.
- Explain the steps needed to complete projects and the products needed.
-Utilize computer terminals and/or portable device to check inventory,
look-up orders and notify customers when product is ready for pick-up.
-Motivation to gain product knowledge and attend trainings/seminars for growth.
-Any other duties assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good proficiency in computer software and POS systems.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Experience in a fast paced customer service environment.
- Experience working in a sales driven environment is an asset.
- Excellent communication and reading skills.
-Excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills.
-Knowledge of building materials, typically acquired from having many years experience in the industry.
-Detail oriented.
-Part-time/Full-time hours: 15-40 per week
