Canadian Heat Exchangers (CHX) is gearing up for our upcoming fall turnaround blocks, and we need top-tier talent to join our teams in the Grande Prairie (GP) area and Taylor, BC area.
Both projects run from the end of August through mid-to-late September, offering consistent hours and competitive rates. Day and Night shifts are available.
Responsibilities
- Field Leadership: Direct site safety operations during high-pressure shutdown windows, ensuring 100% compliance with corporate and client regulations.
- Program Management: Manage, audit, and continually improve the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) manual and COR management systems.
- Incident Investigation: Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Workforce Onboarding & Compliance: Oversee safety orientation protocols, safety ticket compliance verification, and lead daily toolbox/pre-job safety meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation required. CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or HSA is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of dedicated safety leadership experience in industrial turnarounds, oil & gas facilities, or heavy mechanical operations (specifically involving heat exchangers and pressure piping).
- Expert knowledge of provincial OHS regulations, COR audit procedures, and excellent competency in technical report writing and data management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently enforce safety standards with field supervisors, craft workers, and corporate clients alike.
