Job Summary:
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Maintenance and Cleaning Technician to join our team. This role involves a combination of general cleaning duties and specialized after-construction and post-renovation clean-ups. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a variety of environments, including active or recently completed construction sites, and takes pride in delivering high-quality results.
This will be a fixed-term position with a duration of approximately three (3) months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning of residential spaces, including interior and exterior common areas, vacant suites, after-construction and post-renovation.
- Remove construction dust, debris, and residue from floors, walls, ceilings, and surfaces
- Clean windows, window tracks, frames, baseboards, doors, cabinets, and fixtures
- Remove paint splatter, adhesive residue, grout haze, and drywall dust
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and scrub floors using appropriate tools and equipment
- Carry out routine and deep cleaning tasks, including washrooms, kitchens, and common areas, exterior common areas, parking lot, underground parkade, elevators, garbage disposal areas and other
- Safely handle and dispose of waste and cleaning materials
- Follow all site safety procedures and use PPE as required
- Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment in good working condition
- Safe use of basic hand and power tools (no advanced expertise required)
- Basic electrical tasks (e.g., replacing receptacles, light switches, or light fixtures)
- Basic plumbing tasks (e.g., replacing faucets or cartridges, installing dishwashers, or clearing minor drain blockages)
- Door, window, and cabinet hardware (repairing, replacing, or adjusting hinges, latches, and locks)
- Caulking, painting, drywall patching, and minor repairs
- Performing preventative maintenance inspections (checking for leaks, unusual noises, temperature variances, and pressure readings, and documenting findings in a log)
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous cleaning experience required; after-construction cleaning experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
