The Concurrent Disorders Enhanced Service within the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program at the CCMHBI provides care and treatment for those individuals experiencing a severe mental illness combined with a severe addiction. The RPN/RN on Concurrent Disorders Unit will report directly to a Unit Manager and you will provide a broad range of services primarily focused on supporting clients with a concurrent disorder. The RPN/RN will be working within a client-centered treatment approach and will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team. The RPN/RN will also ensure effective operation of the Unit when assuming designated responsibilities and contribute to the learning experience of students, staff and patients. Description:

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach,



counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in an inpatient Addictions and Mental Health environment. Experience in Mental Health and Addictions, leadership, observation and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a Psychiatric and Rehabilitation setting are essential.
