Two Intermediate Teaching Position

Start date: September 2st 2025/2026 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor of Education degree
- Must have or be eligible for BC Teacher Certification
- Experience working with First Nations students
- Positive communication skills, self-motivated, compassionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic;
- Ability to manage challenging student behaviors.

Knowledge and experience:

-
Primary Programs: Read Well, Saxon Math, Acadience Reading
- Intermediate programs: Reading Mastery, Six Minute Solution, Jump Math/Math Focus, Corrective Reading, Third Quest
- Effective classroom management skills;
- Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture;
- Effective planning strategies which include lesson plans, unit plans and year plans;
- Comprehensive assessment strategies which accommodate First Nations learning styles;
- Willingness to integrate appropriate technologies in the classroom;
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs;




- Willingness to incorporate a variety of teaching methods to motivate and encourage students including the use of traditional knowledge in the outdoors and on the land;
- Willingness to participate in local community and cultural events;
- Experience using technology and web-based resources in instruction including Smartboards and IPads;
- Maintains effective and consistent communication with students and parents to discuss progress and goals
- Monitor virtual classrooms during distance/remote learning: student progress, student attendance, student mental health
