The Délı̨nę Got’ı̨nę Government is seeking a Communications Officer to support public communications and community engagement. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position develops communication materials, manages digital platforms, and helps promote DGG programs, initiatives, and priorities while ensuring communications reflect DGG values, culture, and branding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop communication materials, social media content, news releases, newsletters, and public notices.
- Support community engagement activities, public events, and consultations.
- Maintain DGG websites, social media platforms, and digital communications.
- Provide communications support and advice to leadership and departments.
- Ensure communications follow DGG branding, official language requirements, and organizational priorities.
Qualifications:
- Education and/or experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with social media, digital communications, and content development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with staff and community members.
- Knowledge of Délı̨nę culture, government operations, and Dene language is an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based position that requires strong attention to detail, frequent communication with staff and the public, management of multiple deadlines, and occasional attendance at community events and meetings.
Additional Requirements:
- Position of Trust – Criminal Record Check required.
- Indigenous language ability is an asset.
