We are seeking a motivated and dependable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various destinations. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will ensure timely deliveries and optimal vehicle performance. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over long and short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse teams, and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Operate forklifts or other machinery to assist with freight movement within warehouses or loading areas
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Experience with automotive repair or basic vehicle maintenance techniques
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with team members and clients
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
