The SMA is seeking a member to join the Uninsured Services Committee. The committee participates in negotiations with third-party agencies and recommends fees for all services not directly paid by MSB. It also reviews the types of requests physicians receive from third parties and maintains liaison with representatives of agencies such as SGI and WCB. Ideal candidates are familiar with the MSB Payment Schedule for Insured Services and the SMA Fee Guide for Uninsured Services.
Desired qualifications include:
- Awareness of health system goals.
- Experience with third-party forms and requests.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Solid communication skills.
The term is three years, with an average of three meetings per year.
