Job Overview
MacKay Heating & Cooling is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across mainly residential settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience with all related HVAC equipment including AC's, gas furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, ductless systems and hot water units. This role offers an chance to work on diverse projects that require technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.

Our team of Technicians take their service vehicles home every night as jobs are scheduled as efficiently as possible relative to the Tech's home. We have a fully stocked service location/office in St Catharines for installation staging, parts storage, etc...

Responsibilities

- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems in accordance with industry standards and safety protocols
- Perform maintenance on heating and cooling units, including cleaning, calibration, and part replacement
- Install and repair hot water tanks and tankless units related to HVAC systems as needed
- Utilize welding skills for system repairs or modifications when required
- Work with boilers and other mechanical components to ensure efficient operation




- Assist in the installation of all types of HVAC equipment safely and with the highest level of technical quality
- Maintain detailed records of service activities and repairs for client files
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and company policies

Experience

- Proven experience as an HVAC technician with a solid understanding of HVAC systems
- 3-5 years as a fully licensed G2 technician and a holder of a valid ODP license
- Knowledge of various HVAC equipment in order to complete maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations
- Experience with job software such as HouseCall Pro or Service Titan in tablet form for scheduling, job completion and invoicing
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments requiring physical activity such as lifting or working at heights

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
