Mobile Heavy Equipment & Truck/Coach Technician (310T or 421A Licensed)
Location: Ontario (Primarily Barrie, Aurora, Newmarket, GTA & Surrounding Areas)
Pay: $45–$60/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (T4)
Schedule: Monday–Friday with overtime available

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and self-motivated Mobile Heavy Equipment or Truck & Coach Technician (310T or 421A Licensed) to join our growing team. This role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency service on heavy trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and other industrial machinery at customer locations throughout Ontario.
The ideal candidate is an experienced field technician with exceptional diagnostic ability, strong critical thinking skills, and the confidence to work independently. Mobile service requires technicians who can quickly assess complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues, develop effective repair strategies, and complete repairs efficiently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be resourceful, adaptable, safety-focused, and committed to providing exceptional customer service while representing the company in the field.
Work Area & Schedule:
- Mobile field service position based in Ontario.
- Primary service area includes Barrie, Aurora, Newmarket, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and surrounding regions.
- Occasional travel throughout Ontario may be required depending on customer needs.
- Company-provided fully equipped service truck.
- Technicians take their assigned service truck home, allowing them to travel directly to customer locations from home.
- Full time position with overtime opportunities available.
- On-call rotation may be required.

Duties:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and other heavy machinery.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, aftertreatment, and drivability concerns using OEM software, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, and technical service information.
- Apply strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to accurately identify root causes and develop effective repair solutions.
- Perform hydraulic system diagnostics and repairs, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, fittings, and hydraulic components.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs as required to restore equipment to safe operating condition.
- Conduct engine, transmission, driveline, steering, suspension, brake, HVAC, and electrical system repairs.
- Complete DPF, SCR, DEF, emissions system, and regeneration diagnostics and repairs where applicable.
- Utilize OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software, laptops, scan tools, multimeters, hydraulic test equipment, and other specialized tools.
- Perform equipment inspections, preventative maintenance services, and repair verification.
- Accurately document repairs, diagnostic findings, parts used, and labour performed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service truck.
- Communicate professionally with customers, explaining repair recommendations and equipment status.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and applicable safety regulations.
Experience:
- Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician Licence or 421A Heavy Equipment Technician Licence.
- Prior dealership or OEM equipment experience is highly preferred.
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing heavy trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or industrial machinery.
- Strong diagnostic ability is essential. Candidates must be capable of independently diagnosing complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, CAN bus, and intermittent equipment faults.
- Extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems and experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic failures.
- Experience performing welding and light fabrication repairs in the field.
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, driveline systems, air brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and emissions systems.
- Proficiency using OEM diagnostic software, wiring diagrams, service manuals, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly under pressure.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple service calls.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy components and working in various weather conditions.
