Overview
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring that the cleanliness and quality of the hotel’s linen meet the company Standards, therefore providing our guests with an outstanding product.

Key Responsibilities

- To ensure guest linens are exceptionally clean and wrinkle free.
- To identify, act and follow up on maintenance deficiencies and opportunities with the Maintenance Department.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards.
- Provide a high standard of customer service by communicating with guests and helping them with any needs they have.
- Upholds the core values of the Bayview Hotel Comox Valley.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

- To ensure guest linens are exceptionally clean and wrinkle free.
- Look at each piece of linen through the eyes of the guest and using attention to detail meet or exceed the required standards
- Pick up/drop off linen from floors and ensure that all shelves are stocked with adequate supplies for Room Attendants
- Sort all dirty linen
- Pre-soak all rags and breakfast bar linens
- Load and unload washers and dryers, cleaning all lint screens and machines
- Inspect all linens for rips, stains, tears and ensure that appropriate procedure is taken (e.g. pre-treat or discard)
- Conduct monthly inventory of linen
- Maintain adequate supply of relevant items in the laundry room

To identify, act and follow up on maintenance deficiencies and opportunities with the Maintenance Department.

- Check the room for any maintenance deficiencies and report them to Maintenance·

Adhere to all health and safety standards.

- Be aware of all chemicals used in any of the cleaners/tools used on the job and utilize following safety guidelines




- Follow all guidelines outlined in the Health & Wellness manual
- During your orientation we will be going over proper chemical W.H.M.I.S in the work place hazard material

Provide a high standard of customer service by communicating with guests and helping them with any needs they have.

- Respect the guest’s privacy, security and personal belongings and follow appropriate procedures
- Follow proper guest etiquette – respectful, friendly, and polite to all guests, using the guest name where possible

Knowledge and Skills

- 1 year housekeeping or qualified laundry experience preferred
- WHMIS Training an asset
- Physical requirements

– able to lift 10 lbs repeatedly throughout the day

– bend, stand, reach for extended periods of time, extensively throughout the day

– push cart weighing 50 lbs several times throughout the day

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
