Quality Manager
Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility in Ontario. This position ensures compliance with IATF 16949 standards, customer-specific requirements, and all applicable regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes and product quality.
The Quality Manager provides leadership to the Quality team, supports new product launches, manages internal and external audits, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to achieve quality, safety, delivery, and cost objectives.
Education
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of quality experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Experience working directly with OEM customers is required.
- Previous experience in a Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor role is required.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership
- Lead and maintain the site's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure quality standards are consistently achieved across all products and manufacturing processes.
- Oversee APQP and PPAP activities, including supplier and annual PPAP submissions.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits.
- Monitor customer scorecards, portals, complaints, and non-conformances while ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Lead quality investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Interim Containment Actions (ICA), and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA).
- Maintain document control systems to ensure accuracy, revision control, and accessibility of quality documentation.
Continuous Improvement & Program Support
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, rework, defects, and customer complaints.
- Support engineering change management activities and successful current product launches.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to improve process capability, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance overall plant performance.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Quality Engineers and other Quality team members.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
- Ensure employee training requirements are completed and maintained through the company training matrix.
- Support employee development through mentoring, performance management, and continuous learning opportunities.

- Support hazard identification, risk reduction initiatives, and continuous safety improvements.
