Portage Service for Seniors is a non-profit agency that assists older adults to remain in their own homes through programs such as meal programs, transportation, socialization, and emergency response (Lifeline).

We are seeking a flexible, patient and well-organized individual to fill a full time, permanent position as Executive Director in our office. Hours are generally Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm (schedule may vary).

The Executive Director:· Oversees the day to day operations of the agency· Implements policies· Provides leadership, direction, and guidance· Coordinates support services for Seniors· Actively involved in the community may include some evenings/weekends

Applicant must be skilled and:· Show initiative· Work independently and collaboratively· Lead with optimism· Determine work priorities· Maintain client confidentiality

· Recruits, trains, and supervises· Maintains a strong volunteer base· Organizes the delivery of programs and events· Designs, implements and assesses programming· Pursues and applies for grants· Creates and maintains a strong donor base· Coordinates with the Board· Promotes Portage Service for Seniors in a variety of ways (public speaking, press releases, radio interviews,



etc)· Maintains a strong social media presence· Ensures Personnel Manual is adhered to· Responsible for the day to day management of staff and volunteers

Must have experience with:· Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and QuickBooks

Desired Qualifications:· Post-secondary education in business administration, non-profit management, social services, or a related field is considered an asset, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. · Food Handler’s Certificate· Other applicants may be considered

· Salary Range $38,000-$42,000

Conditions of Employment:· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada· Must possess a valid Manitoba Driver’s license and their own transportation· The position is available immediately and subject to a probationary period
