Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, possess excellent communication skills, and have a passion for hospitality. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements to enhance the overall dining experience. Prior restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but we value enthusiasm and a positive attitude. The Host/Hostess will be an essential part of our team, representing the friendly face of our establishment and ensuring guests feel valued from the moment they arrive.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a positive first impression
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Escort guests to their tables and assist with seating arrangements as needed
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and handle reservation requests or questions about the menu
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service flow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting area
- Address guest concerns promptly and courteously to ensure satisfaction
- Assist with clearing glasses & plates and wiping tables when needed
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, guest service, and professionalism at all times
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced workplace
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and customer service best practices
- Experience in food service or hotel environments is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
- Must be Smart Serve certified
