The LPN or RN will provide skilled nursing services which include, but are not limited to, conducting health assessments and wellness checks, monitoring vital signs, administering medications as ordered, coordinating with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. The nurse must also be proficient in phlebotomy, with demonstrated experience performing blood draws safely and accurately.

Responsibilities

- Perform patient assessments and wellness checks
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Provide clinical guidance and expertise to Go-Care team members
- Administer medications and perform treatments accurately according to physician orders within the nurse’s scope of practice
- Collaborate with patients, physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care




- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control procedures
- Adhere to BCCNM standards of practice and organizational policies

Skills

- Proven experience in nursing home, hospital or private care settings
- Proven experience with laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and sample collection
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including children and elderly patients
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to manage patient load efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and quality of care

Qualifications & Requirements

- Current and active registration and in valuable standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
- Graduate of an approved nursing program
- Successful completion of a phlebotomy training
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Up to date immunizations
- Valid BC driver’s license with a reliable vehicle and insurance
- Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
- Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and venipuncture




- Robust English communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Previous community or home health experience considered an asset
- Basic computer and electronic medical records skills (previous experience with Jane App is considered an asset)
