Position Overview

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining the condition, functionality, and safety of residential leased buildings. This includes performing general maintenance and repairs in apartments and common areas, conducting preventative maintenance, and responding to service requests from tenants and management. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in keeping properties in excellent condition while delivering friendly and qualified service to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of residential units, common areas, and building systems.
- Complete general repairs such as drywall patching, painting, door and hardware adjustments, and minor flooring work.
- Handle light plumbing tasks including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing faucets, and repairing toilets.
- Perform basic electrical work such as replacing fixtures, switches, and outlets.
- Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests and ensure work is completed efficiently and professionally.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems, including HVAC filter changes and minor adjustments.
- Coordinate with external vendors or licensed trades for specialized work when required.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in compliance with company policies and building regulations.




- Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas, tools, and supplies.
- Support seasonal maintenance activities such as snow removal, landscaping, and exterior repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and property inspections.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certification an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in high rise buildings
- 2–4 years of experience in residential building maintenance or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Professional, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
