Epic Integration Consultant (https://):About GenXys & This Role (https://):
GenXys is a precision prescribing and clinical decision support company helping healthcare organizations use pharmacogenomics, medication intelligence, and clinical workflow tools to support safer, more personalized prescribing.
We are preparing for Epic health system deployments and are looking for an experienced Epic integration architect or Epic Bridges and FHIR consultant to help ensure our platform is designed for real-world Epic implementation environments. We are looking for someone who can help us think through Epic integration strategy, health system implementation realities, data requirements, workflow entry points, and deployment risks.
The ideal consultant can speak both languages: Epic hospital IT reality and digital health product architecture. This person will work closely with our VP of Technology to help GenXys become deployment-ready for Epic health system environments and create a repeatable integration playbook for future customers.

Initial Engagement (https://):
This would begin as a focused 6-8 week contractor or advisory engagement, with potential for broader collaboration depending on fit.

Expected initial deliverables include:
1. Epic integration readiness assessment
2. Architecture options across FHIR, SMART on FHIR, HL7, CDS Hooks, embedded app, and/or external app models
3. Required Epic data objects, workflows, and triggers relevant to GenXys
4. Health system implementation checklist
5. Talent and vendor roadmap for future deployment support

Key Responsibilities (https://):

- Assess GenXys’ current product and technical architecture for Epic deployment readiness.
- Recommend integration pathways across Epic Bridges, HL7 v2, Epic FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR, CDS Hooks, and related approaches.
- Define required data objects, interface needs, authentication patterns, and workflow triggers.




- Identify appropriate Epic workflow entry points for clinical decision support and prescribing-related use cases.
- Anticipate common health system implementation constraints, governance requirements, testing needs, and customer-side dependencies.
- Help create reusable integration documentation, specifications, checklists, and internal guidance for future deployments.
- Advise GenXys’ VP of Technology on practical implementation risks, sequencing, and resourcing.

Must-Have Experience (https://):

- Epic Bridges certification or deep hands-on Epic Bridges experience.
- HL7 v2 interface experience, especially with ADT, ORM, ORU, RDE/RX, SIU, MDM, or medication/lab-related messages.
- FHIR R4 experience with Epic APIs.
- SMART on FHIR launch experience.
- Experience integrating third-party clinical applications into Epic environments.
- Strong understanding of Epic implementation governance inside hospitals and health systems.
- Ability to write explicit integration specifications, not just configure interfaces.
- Experience working directly with technical, clinical informatics, security, and operational stakeholders in health system environments.

Highly Valuable Experience (https://):

- CDS Hooks, BestPractice Advisories, order workflows, medication management, or prescribing workflows.
- Clinical decision support, pharmacogenomics, genomics, medication safety, prior authorization, specialty pharmacy, or payer workflows.
- Interface engines such as InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Mirth/NextGen Connect, or Corepoint.
- Epic App Orchard, Epic Showroom, Epic on FHIR review processes, or vendor-side Epic integration pathways.
- Experience helping digital health vendors move from product concept to deployable health system integration.

Engagement Type (https://):
Contractor or advisory engagement to start. Part-time/fractional support is expected, with potential for broader collaboration as GenXys progresses through Epic health system deployments. This is a fully remote role.
