Job Summary

OZ Shower Doors Ltd. is looking for a reliable and hardworking Assistant / Trainee Installer to join our installation team. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training and assist experienced installers with residential and commercial glass and closet projects.

After approximately six months of training, candidates who demonstrate the required skills, reliability, workmanship, and ability to work independently may be promoted to a Full Installer position.

Responsibilities

- Assist and help the Senior Installer with shower door and shower enclosure installations
- Assist with bathroom, gym, and custom mirror installations
- Assist with wire shelving and melamine closet installations
- Assist with storefront glass and glass partition wall installations
- Help load, unload, carry, and safely handle glass and materials
- Assist with measurements, drilling, levelling, silicone, and finishing work
- Help with service calls, repairs, and removal of existing glass products
- Keep tools, company vehicles, and work areas clean and organized
- Follow all company and workplace safety procedures

Requirements

- Willing to learn and follow instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Able to read a measuring tape
- Able to lift and carry heavy glass and materials
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work well with a team




- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is preferred
- Previous construction or installation experience is an asset but not required

Training and Promotion

The trainee will work under the supervision of experienced installers and receive practical training in measuring, handling glass, installation methods, finishing, customer service, and workplace safety.

After six months, performance will be reviewed. Promotion to a Full Installer will be based on:

- Installation skills and workmanship
- Ability to complete work safely
- Attendance and punctuality
- Ability to take accurate measurements
- Careful handling of glass and materials
- Customer service and communication
- Ability to complete installations with minimal supervision

Completion of the six-month training period does not automatically guarantee promotion.

Work Requirements

- Full time availability
- Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work when required
- Travel to job sites throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform physical work throughout the day

Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour
