Overview
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and supporting store operations in a quick-paced grocery environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and a passion for helping customers find what they need. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, but not required. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales and merchandising skills while contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and quickly
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product demos when necessary
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with accuracy
- Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure shelves are stocked and well-presented
- Assist with merchandising, stocking, and inventory management tasks




- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving concerns professionally
- Maintain proper phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or in person
- Support supervising staff as needed, including overseeing sales floor activities during shifts

Qualifications

- Prior retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Strong communication skills and excellent customer service abilities
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Ability to upsell products and conduct product demos effectively
- Bilingual language skills are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
- Supervising experience is a plus but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail operations preferred
- Friendly attitude with the ability to work well in a team setting
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; previous phone etiquette experience is beneficial

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
