Position Overview

- On behalf of our client, a premier logistics provider, we are seeking a dependable, professional DZ Truck Driver for a dedicated daily cross-border route.
- In this role, you will operate a box truck hauling automotive parts between warehouse facilities in St. Thomas, Ontario, and Port Huron, Michigan. The position involves daily border crossings, manual loading and unloading (handbombing), and assisting with warehouse duties when schedule permits.

Key Responsibilities

- Transportation & Border Crossing: Safely operate a straight/box truck on a scheduled daily return route across the Canada–US border.
- Cargo Handling: Transport automotive parts between designated warehouses. Perform manual loading and unloading (handbombing) of cargo as required.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure strict adherence to transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS), occupational health and safety, customs/immigration requirements, and vehicle weights/dimensions. Accurately complete all cargo documentation, e-logs, and mileage/fuel tracking.
- Vehicle Maintenance & Safety: Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.



Promptly report any vehicle defects, traffic incidents, or damage.
- Warehouse Support: Assist the warehouse team with general duties and inventory handling as shift time allows.
- Communication: Maintain clear, ongoing communication with warehouse management, dispatch, and border officials.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

- Critical Insurance Requirement: Our client's insurance provider requires a minimum of 3 years of verifiable commercial driver insurance history / proof of coverage. Candidates who cannot provide 3 years of insurance history will not be eligible for consideration.

Experience & Licensing

- Commercial Driving Experience: 4–5 years of professional driving experience.
- License: Valid DZ Driver's License. (AZ License is considered a strong asset).
- Clean Driving Record: Clean Personal Driver’s Abstract required.
- Background: Clean criminal record / background check.

Cross-Border Credentials

- Valid FAST Card and Valid Passport.
- Full eligibility and willingness to cross the US–Canada border daily.

Education & Other Skills

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with cross-border e-logs and communication technologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.




- Self-directed with the ability to work independently.
- Mechanical aptitude for routine vehicle checks.
- Defensive Driving Course certification is preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

- Physical Capability: Must be comfortable performing handbombing/manual loading. Frequently required to handle objects, bend, squat, kneel, and sit for extended periods.
- Lifting Requirements: Ability to carry loads of up to 25 lbs frequently and lift loads up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Workplace: Exposure to typical warehouse and road noise, moving machinery, and variable weather conditions during border transfers.
