About the Role
Flowpoint Environmental Systems is hiring an Electrical Engineering Technologist (ENT) or Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support the design and delivery of engineered water and wastewater treatment systems.
This role is well suited to someone early to mid-career who is strong in electrical drafting and design (AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical) and is looking for a clear growth path into senior technologist or professional engineering roles, including support toward achieving P.Eng designation where applicable.
What You’ll Do
- Create and maintain electrical drawings using AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical
- Prepare:
- Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Control panel layouts
- Single-line and power distribution diagrams
- Instrumentation and I/O drawings
- Support electrical design for:
- Control panels, MCCs, VFDs, and motor starters
- PLC-based control systems and instrumentation
- Assist with engineering change orders and design revisions
- Coordinate with mechanical, process, and software teams
- Support as-built documentation and project closeout packages
- Participate in field support, commissioning, and troubleshooting as required
- Ensure designs meet CSA / CEC and applicable standards
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering
- C.E.T. (or eligibility) OR EIT (or eligible for registration)
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)
- Understanding of industrial electrical systems and control panels
- Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs;
- Must be based in the Edmonton area
Nice to Have
- Experience with water or wastewater treatment systems
- Exposure to:
- Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Industrial instrumentation (flow, level, pressure, analyzers)
- 480V / 600V power distribution
- Experience in project-based or engineered-to-order environments
