Part-Time Cashier - ALL SUNDAYS & EVERY OTHER SATURDAY - Store hours 9:15 am – 5:45 pm (8-hours)
Wages ~ $18.25 Minimum Wage
Job Description:
We are searching to fill our consistent Sunday position, 8 hours, and are alternating every other Saturday position, 8 hours. Perfect for those who are in school or want a weekend job. Your position is to provide operational and administrative support with the day-to-day operations of running The Egg Store. This position requires you to work independently and alone.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Managing the front till and handling customer service
o Greeting and helping the customers as required, answering their questions
o Handling customer Issues/complaints with care and reporting to management
o Answering store phone and processing orders like DoorDash
· Inventory tracking, verifying deliveries, and labelling
o Employee must be knowledgeable about our farm and products
o Ensure enough egg stock on hand and properly restocked and labelled
o Ensuring labelling and pricing is done correctly
o Vending machine restocked full at the end of the shift
o Produce is being watched; moldy produce is removed & semi good produce donated
o Expiry dates are checked daily
· Responsible for the general cleanliness of The Egg Store (inside and out) and following food secure protocols
o Monitoring cooler temps, running properly
o Food safety protocol – ie. wearing gloves, using sanitizer, masks, health checks completed, etc.
o Garbage is emptied, and fly/rodent control is being maintained
o Windows and sills, the washroom, and the outdoor sitting areas are cleaned
o Parking lot is free from debris
o Washroom is clean, restocked, and tidy
o Store is being opened, closed and locked and armed up properly at the end of each shift
· Managing the store sales, float, as well as counting and tracking cash; noting any discrepancies/issues
o Closing tills and recording stats
o Managing float balance and accounting for any discrepancies
o Ensuring POS entries are correct – returns, discounts and records are in order
· Reporting to management about any issues and concerns customers may have.
o Feedback & customer requests and orders
· Assist with other duties as assigned if required.
o Be willing to help out with events and other areas where help is needed at different times of the year
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Preference given to applicants with experience in customer service and/or administrative tasks.
· Capable of using point of sale equipment
· Exceptional communication skills.
· Self-motivated, organized, and can work independently.
· Able to maintain confidentiality and trust.
· Commitment to service excellence and product quality
· Detail-oriented: can maintain accurate and detailed files and follow established procedures.
· Can function effectively under a changing environment.
· Observant of products and customers
· Independent
Required to keep the store clean and tidy
Pay: $18.25 per hour
