Job Information: Seeking a highly organized and motivated Transit Shelter Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of our municipal infrastructure program. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys coordinating multiple activities, working collaboratively with internal teams and municipal partners, and supporting projects from planning through to completion.
Reporting to the Manager, the Transit Shelter Coordinator will assist in tracking infrastructure assets, coordinating operational activities, supporting field projects, and helping ensure the successful delivery of installations, relocations, reinstatements, and removals of Street Level products (transit shelters, advertisement benches, digital signages) throughout our municipal networks.
What you’ll do…
- Support the coordination of day-to-day operational activities related to infrastructure projects in different municipalities.
- Assist in identify, track, and maintain records for infrastructure removals, relocations, reinstatements, and new installations.
- Support project scheduling activities and help facilitate communication between internal departments, contractors, transit authorities,
and suppliers to support timely project delivery.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, verify project requirements, and document field observations.
- Assist the Manager in planning and coordinating new infrastructure installations.
- Support project documentation, reporting, asset tracking, and record management activities.
- Attend meetings with municipal partners alongside the Manager and assist with project coordination and follow-up.
- Monitor project progress and flag potential issues, risks, or scheduling conflicts for review by the Manager.
- Help ensure project information is accurately maintained and updated in internal tracking systems.
- Attend site meetings with municipal stakeholders to review new and potential locations (including collection of site photos and measurements)
- Prepare drawings using design software
- Carry out final installation reviews of products and identify deficiencies
- Take marketing photographs of products when requested
- Assist in applying for street use permits for civil site work.
- Assist with coordinating maintenance programs for street furniture products and required repairs
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, both internally and externally
- Liaise with various internal departments to gather and distribute information and ensure necessary approvals, standards and timelines are being adhered to
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned or requested by the Manager of Leasing and Operations, Transit Shelter Development
Who you are …
- Previous experience in project coordination, construction, municipal operations, infrastructure, or a related environment is considered an asset but is not required.
- Basic experience using CAD software or other design software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Comfortable conducting occasional field visits and working outdoors when required.
- Valid BC driver's license required
