About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our construction and paint supply store. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, helping customers find the right products, and generating new business opportunities.
This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission, providing excellent earning potential for high performers.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with construction, renovation, and paint product selections.
- Provide exceptional customer service and product recommendations.
- Generate sales and meet performance targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, property managers, and retail customers.
- Follow up on customer inquiries and quotations.
- Maintain product displays and ensure the store remains organized and professional.
- Process sales transactions and prepare orders.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products.
Account Management Opportunities
Employees who develop and manage customer accounts may qualify for ongoing recurring commissions on repeat business generated from their accounts.
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred.
- Experience in construction materials, building supplies, paint products, or related industries is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a passion for sales and customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to speak a second language is highly preferred.
