Canada’s Ocean Supercluster accelerates the development and commercialization of made-in-Canada ocean solutions in energy transition, food security, future of transport, and climate change while also growing more companies, creating more jobs, and attracting ocean talent. As Canada’s national ocean cluster, the OSC is a convenor of members, partners, and networks and a catalyst for transformative growth that helps build the robust ecosystem needed to help realize Ambition 2035 – a 5X growth potential in ocean in Canada by 2035. To date, the OSC has approved more than 150 projects valued at more than $600 million, which will deliver more than 300 new made-in-Canada ocean products, processes, and services to sell to the world.

The OSC has a team of over 30 employees across seven provinces. We are looking for an cutting-edge thinker to support our innovation agenda and contribute to the growth, retention and development of the ocean economy and the health of the planet.

About the Role

Reporting to the Indigenous Engagement Manager, the paid Internship – Arctic Innovation & Engagement will support the development of OSC’s Arctic innovation ecosystem. This role builds on OSC’s existing engagement model and prior work in Indigenous partnerships, with a specific focus on:

- Arctic innovation opportunities
- Northern ecosystem engagement
- Community-informed project development
- Research and coordination across stakeholders

You will contribute to a blend of research, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem development, helping OSC better understand and support innovation opportunities in the Arctic.

Key Responsibilities

Ecosystem & Stakeholder Engagement

Support engagement with Arctic and Northern stakeholders, including community organizations, partners, and ecosystem participants Assist in mapping stakeholders, partnerships, and collaboration opportunities

Participate in meetings, working groups, and engagement activities

Project & Initiative Support

Support early-stage project exploration,



including research into feasibility and alignment with OSC priorities Contribute to project materials, including summaries and presentations

Assist in identifying opportunities for Arctic-focused innovation ecosystem projects

Events, Working Groups & Coordination

Support planning and coordination of Arctic-focused working groups, roundtables, or events Assist in preparing agendas, materials, and notes for meetings

Contribute to follow-ups and tracking of action items

Data & Knowledge Organization

Support the organization of research, engagement insights, and stakeholder data Contribute to maintaining clear documentation and knowledge-sharing across teams

Assist in translating information into accessible formats (presentations, summaries, dashboards where applicable)

What You Bring

Education & Background

Enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program Knowledge of marine-based economies and ecosystems

Skills & Experience

Strong interest in Arctic innovation, community engagement, or the ocean economy Experience with research, data collection, and analysis

Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights

Experience with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, or similar

Ways of Working

Curious, respectful, and relationship-oriented in engaging with diverse communities Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset

Comfortable working in a remote, cross-functional environment
