This job is for use in the Business Support Services (BSS) Branch.

The Business Support Services (BSS) Branch is responsible for providing business support through a centralized branch that consolidates and streamlines the delivery of specialized business supports and services to an assigned department, and standardizes where feasible. The dual mandate of the BSS is to provide key business knowledge and capacity to support policy, project management and a number of administrative functions to General Managers and operational Services and Branches within the Department, and to support the City as a whole by working collectively and collaboratively to enhance operations and support corporate-wide initiatives.

You are responsible for: providing research, analytical support to a variety of corporate and departmental services, programs and initiatives; tracking and monitoring related information and data, ensuring accuracy and integrity; supporting corporate and departmental services, programs and initiatives led by the BSS; and participating as a project team member on assigned projects, supporting project planning and various project components.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 3 year university degree in a related field

Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting research and enhanced data collection and analysis, communicating information, working with advanced tracking and monitoring system and supporting project management or project elements. KNOWLEDGE Research, data collection and analyses methodologies Project management principles and practices Corporate computer systems and applications Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers. COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Solid analytical and strategic thinking Strong research skills including statistical analysis Research, assemble and analyze data/information Communicate with various levels of the corporation using different methods, considering different audiences Write effectively in a clear, concise manner (business writing) Effective judgment and problem solving Strong organizational skills Work independently and take initiative Prioritize, multiple tasks and meet deadlines Work in multi-disciplinary teams Demonstrate leadership, initiative,



and sound judgement Collaborative approach in working with others Conscientious, thorough, and detail oriented Innovative and creative Flexible and adaptable Customer service oriented Exercise discretion, tact and diplomacy WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
