Job Overview The Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are recruiting a full‐time Academic Geriatrician and Division Director. This role will lead the division's clinical, educational, research and administrative activities, providing strategic and operational leadership to advance clinical excellence and the academic mandate.

Responsibilities Provide 60–70% clinical care, including inpatient and outpatient geriatric medicine. Dedicate 30–40% of time to academic, leadership and administrative duties aligned with the faculty rank. Lead the division of Geriatric Medicine and mentor junior faculty. Develop programs, manage quality improvement initiatives and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications MD degree and eligibility for full‐time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto.

Certification in Geriatric Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Demonstrated clinical excellence in geriatric medicine and a robust record of research, education or knowledge translation.



Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to build collaborative relationships.

Assistant

Professors with relevant leadership experience may also be considered.

Benefits and Compensation Estimated remuneration of $300,000–$400,000 (fee for service/alternate funding plan estimate) commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience. Eligible for Ontario Geriatric Medicine AFP. Member of the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association for clinical billings and benefits. The candidate may participate in the department's group medical, dental and life insurance benefit plans. Relocation costs may be included.

Location and Start Date Primary practice location: Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Expected start date: August 1 2026 or a mutually agreed‐upon date.
