As part of our EA SPORTS FC studio, the Technical Art Team helps push visual boundaries and experiences for our players. We combine creativity and imagination with technical expertise. This is a 12‑month contract to begin with, with the possibility of long‑term employment.
The Associate Technical
Artist is a bridge between the artists and engineers. They are considered part of the Core FC team and work closely with artists, project managers, SEs and the Technical Art team. The main areas of responsibilities include art production workflows, tools, pipelines, asset optimisation/integration and shader development.
TAs are expected to assume ownership over any technical issues that arise on their project and bring them to resolution. You can be from an Art, Design, Mathematics,
Engineering or Computer Science background; however you must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both art and science.
Technical
Artists report to Technical Art Directors or Development Directors on the EA SPORTS FC team. In this role, you will be working with stakeholders across EA studios (EA Vancouver, EA Shanghai, EA Korea) on titles including FC Mobile, FC Online, and more. You will be responsible for maintaining asset management pipelines, resolving game asset issues, and driving asset deliveries on a specified asset domain (e.g. heads, player kits, player accessories, etc.).
At least 1 year of cinematic/games production experience. A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desired.
Experience scripting/programming in Python and C#. (C++ is a bonus, but is not required). Extended knowledge and experience working with 3D art packages (Maya) and other DCC tools is preferred. A solutions‑provider, particularly as it pertains to testing and debugging technical issues. the ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations.
A passion for games! Victoria): $74,100 – $102,000 CAD In Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
