Role Description The Building Science Engineer/ archtectual engneering tech is a full-time, hybrid role based in Moncton with a mix of on-site visits and work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing building envelope and mechanical systems, diagnosing performance issues, and recommending maintenance or repair solutions. The role involves conducting site inspections, coordinating with facility management teams, and preparing technical reports, drawings, and specifications for remedial work.
The engineer will collaborate with project managers, contractors,
and clients to implement preventive maintenance strategies, support building upgrades, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. This position also includes monitoring project progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement of building science practices within the organization.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Building Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance to support reliable, long-term building performance.
Candidates should possess skills in Facility Management (FM) to work effectively with operations teams and optimize building systems.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (building science, mechanical, civil, or related discipline) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of building codes, standards, and best practices related to building envelopes, HVAC, and building systems performance.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work safely on active sites, manage multiple projects, and communicate clearly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Professional engineering designation (or eligibility) and experience in the Atlantic Canada region are considered assets.
