Duties
Reporting to the Property Manager, the Building Superintendent is responsible for the completion of maintenance and cleaning tasks at assigned properties.
This job serves as the first point of contact for tenants in those properties.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Ability to clean and sanitize buildings and residential units
- Experience performing minor plumbing repairs, i.e. changing taps, investigating the source of water leaks, bathroom repairs, etc
- Experience performing minor household repairs i.e. changing door hardware, changing and repairing screens, repairing handrails, caulking, etc
- Ability to perform grounds maintenance and operating landscaping machinery, including the use of equipment such as lawnmowers and snow blowers
- Ability to work with others
- Ability to organize work
- Effective verbal communication skills
Desired:
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and policies
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a valid full-stage Manitoba Class 5 driver's licence without restrictions and have the ability to use their own vehicle as required
- Must be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties and functions of the job, including working in confined spaces and at heights, as well as carrying out physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, climbing, lifting, and carrying (0-50 lbs)
- Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions (e.g., outdoors in varying weather, or indoors in tenant units that may have challenging conditions)
- Must be able to work extended hours
