Role: Business Systems Analyst SAP US Payroll Tax Compliance Multi-System Integration

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada (4 days a week on site)

Duration: Long-Term Contract

Mode of Interview: Face-to-Face Required Business Context: CLIENT needs to automate New York State employment tax withholding to address audit findings related to business travellers and trailing compensation, reduce future compliance risk, and ensure accurate payroll tax reporting across integrated systems and data sources

Role Overview The Business Systems Analyst will bridge Payroll, Global Mobility Finance, Concur EY Technology Infrastructure Solution Architecture, and IT delivery teams to define and validate requirements for automating New York State employment tax withholding.

The role requires SAP US Payroll BSI Tax Factory tax compliance integration data analysis and audit-ready documentation expertise

Required Qualifications

5 years as a Business Systems Analyst in financial services or a regulated workplace

Strong SAP US Payroll and BSI Tax Factory expertise including wage types, tax sourcing, payroll configuration, withholding calculations, and payroll data structures

Experience with state/local employment tax compliance, nonresident withholding wage allocation, trailing compensation, and multistate payroll rules

Proven ability to document business functional, technical integration, data reconciliation, and control requirements

Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, analytical communication, and audit-ready documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

New York State employment tax compliance audit remediation business traveller and wage sourcing experience

Experience with Concur Travel Expense, EY tools, third-party tax platforms, SFTP integrations, or location data sources such as badge, remote work, IP transit, or mobile data

Knowledge of compensation integration, deferred compensation, bonus, MTI, relocation, payroll transformation, or tax automation projects

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Elicitation Documentation

Lead interviews and workshops with Payroll, Global Mobility, Concur EY Finance Technology, Infrastructure Solution Architecture, IT leadership, and business stakeholders





Document current state processes, gaps, requirements, controls, reconciliations, and traceability from audit findings through design testing and implementation

Validate requirements across stakeholders to ensure completeness, feasibility alignment and audit defensibility

SAP Payroll Tax Expertise

Analyze SAP US Payroll and BSI Tax Factory setup for New York State withholding and identify configuration or data gaps

Document wage types, compensation elements, sourcing logic, vesting periods, withholding calculations, inbound/outbound interfaces, and reconciliation needs

Partner with the Solution Architect on SAP update automation and integration design

MultiSystem Integration Requirements

Define integration requirements across Concur, SAP EY Mobility tools, badgelocation systems, Technology Infrastructure data sources, SFTP, and related platforms

Document data flows, required elements, frequency, validation rules, control totals, exception handling, reconciliation procedures, and service-level expectations

Ensure data quality, security governance, and year-end off-cycle processing requirements are clearly captured

New York State Tax Compliance

Translate New York State employment tax rules, audit findings, and remediation expectations into system process data and control requirements

Clarify workday definitions, nonresident wage allocation, trailing compensation sourcing, relocation impacts, and reporting requirements

Ensure documentation is clear, complete, traceable, and audit-defensible

Location Travel Remote Work Data Requirements

Define requirements to capture actual New York State workdays, business traveller activity, remote work locations, and employee validation/correction workflows

Specify badge swipe and alternate location data requirements, including data element frequency validation, reconciliation, and exception handling





Document how location data will be stored, approved, and used for tax withholding

Compensation Integration with EY Tool

Define compensation data requirements for EY transmission, including wages, trailing compensation MTI bonus, deferred compensation, and related elements

Document file frequency, SFTP specifications, schedules, acknowledgements, return data, SAP update needs, controls reconciliation, and error handling

Stakeholder Coordination Governance

Serve as the primary IT/business coordination point across Payroll, Global Mobility, Finance, Concur, EY Technology Infrastructure and architecture teams

Facilitate validation sessions, resolve requirement gaps, escalate blockers, and provide status updates on risk dependencies, feasibility, and sign-off progress

Key Deliverables

Current state process and gap analysis covering payroll compensation relocation travel location tracking and remote work

Requirements specification covering location tracking, compensation integration, process automation, relocation management controls, and reconciliation

Integration and data mapping specifications across Concur, SAP EY tools, badge systems, Technology Infrastructure sources, SFTP, and related platforms

Stakeholder validation and sign-off documentation across Payroll, Global Mobility, Finance, IT, and relevant business groups

FY2027 implementation roadmap covering scope sequencing dependencies, risks, timeline, and resource estimates

Working Environment Logistics

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, standard business hours with stakeholder overlap as needed; expected availability at least four days per week Travel: Minimal; occasional in-person working sessions may be required Reporting: Reports to the Senior Program Manager and works closely with the Solution Architect, IT leadership, Payroll, Global Mobility, Finance Concur, EY Technology Infrastructure, and business stakeholders Why This Role Matters This role helps reduce audit, regulatory, and financial risk by enabling compliant New York State tax withholding automation supporting FY2027 implementation, and improving payroll operational efficiency
