Capital Investment Planning is responsible for stewarding a strategic corporate capital planning process and methodology to create The City's capital infrastructure investment plan. The team prioritizes and optimizes The City's investments through portfolio management to support infrastructure resilience, integrated service delivery and intentional management of The City's capital portfolio. The work is high-profile and often requires quick turnaround times within an environment that can often be ambiguous.

As a Capital Data Analyst, you will support the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of capital information. You will maintain and make improvements to the databases, create capital dashboards and data models,



share insights and assist in the preparation of high-quality reports and presentations for a range of audiences, including senior leadership and Council. Primary duties include:

- Collect, analyze, and synthesize qualitative, quantitative and spatial information including capital budget and capital portfolio requests.
- Liaise with business units and services across the organization to collect high quality capital inputs, performing rigorous data quality checks to ensure data accuracy.
- Select, use, and develop templates, tools and databases for data intake, analysis, and summarization to deliver decision-focused insights. This includes dashboards and data models to deliver decision-focused insights.
- Support capital portfolio reporting with data summaries focusing on interpretation, impacts, patterns, trends, and recommendations. This may include infographics and other data visualizations.
- Assist in the preparation of high-quality reports and presentations for a range of audiences, including senior leadership and Council.
- Manage, maintain, and provide user training for the division¿s information sharing and storage system, including document update and access management.

Qualifications

- A degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business/Commerce, Engineering or related and at least 3 years of related experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft SharePoint (developer knowledge), Word, Excel,



Power BI and PowerPoint are essential.
- Experience managing, analyzing and processing large volumes of data is essential.
- Experience with database management, computer programming, GIS, Business Intelligence tools, business process improvement, quality assurance and project management will be considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate strong analytical curiosity, the ability to learn quickly, act on their own initiative and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent strategic, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships and present complex information through written and visual means.
