We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Certified Truck & Coach Technician (310T) to support the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of commercial trucks, armoured vehicles, and specialized vehicle platforms. This role is responsible for diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, performing inspections and repairs, and ensuring vehicles meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. Working alongside a team of skilled professionals, you will play a critical role in supporting the production, service, and operational readiness of some of the industry's most advanced specialty vehicles.

Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial trucks, armoured vehicles, and specialty vehicle platforms.

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, driveline components, steering systems, suspension systems, HVAC units, and fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems.

Inspect, diagnose, repair, and certify air brake systems in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.

Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems, including charging systems, starter systems, electronic control modules (ECMs), and CAN Bus networks.

Install, commission,



test, and troubleshoot OEM and aftermarket vehicle equipment and integrated systems.

Perform welding, fabrication, structural repairs, and vehicle modifications as required.

Support the installation and maintenance of armouring systems, auxiliary power systems, communications equipment, emergency equipment, and specialized vehicle upgrades.

Conduct road tests, operational testing, and final quality inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance requirements.

Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, service manuals, and OEM diagnostic information.

Complete repair documentation, inspection reports, and maintenance records accurately and professionally.

Ensure all work complies with engineering requirements, OEM specifications, company quality standards, and applicable legislation.

Maintain a safe and organized work workplace while adhering to all health and safety procedures.

Required

Qualifications

Valid Ontario Truck and Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification (310T) or equivalent provincially recognized certification.

Valid Air Brake Certification (Z Endorsement).

Minimum 5 years of experience servicing heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, or specialty vehicles.

Valid driver's licence with acceptable driving record.

Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, and service manuals.

Preferred

Qualifications

Experience with armoured vehicles, military vehicles, emergency vehicles, or specialty vehicle upfitting.

Experience with Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, Allison, or similar systems.

Welding and fabrication experience.

Forklift and overhead crane certification.

Valid DZ or AZ licence. Competencies

Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

Ability to safely operate shop equipment and power tools.

Conditions

This position operates within a manufacturing and service shop environment and involves working with commercial trucks, armoured vehicles, and specialty equipment. The role includes exposure to mechanical equipment, noise, lubricants, fuels, and varying environmental conditions. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required to support production schedules and customer commitments.
