Rate: $48–53/hour

We are seeking a Civil Engineer with experience in concrete and steel construction within the nuclear industry to support a major nuclear project. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in concrete engineering, quality, construction support, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, review, and approve concrete mix designs and batch plant submittals.
- Prepare and maintain concrete material and construction specifications.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, nuclear regulations, and applicable codes and standards.
- Review and approve engineering and construction documents, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Concrete Construction Plans, and technical procedures.
- Support concrete construction activities, including pour planning and quality reviews.
- Evaluate and resolve concrete-related engineering issues and provide technical recommendations.
- Review and respond to RFIs, design changes, and non-conformance reports.




- Collaborate with project stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering analyses, and design documentation.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in nuclear construction.
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete design and construction.
- Experience with high-density concrete mix design, testing, placement, and quality control.
- Knowledge of ACI 318, ACI 349, ASTM standards, and CSA A23 series (especially CSA A23.1 and A23.2).
- Solid understanding of nuclear quality and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with radiation shielding concrete.
- Knowledge of CSA N291 and CSA N287 standards.
- Familiarity with ASME Section III and Section XI.
- Experience with FMEA, containment pressure testing, aging management, concrete NDT, or repair techniques.
