Class 1(F) Semi Driver

Springhill Lumber (Wholesale) Ltd. is looking for a full-time Class 1(F) Semi Driver. This position is from Monday to Friday with some overtime as required.

The successful candidate will receive full company-paid benefits after 90 days.

Rate of Pay: Depending on Experience

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and materials and goods.
- Deliver building materials and goods to customers’ job sites or homes in rural and city deliveries as instructed by the shipping department and ensure all required paperwork is completed.
- Pick up any excess building materials and goods from job sites or customer’s homes as instructed by the shipping department, and complete proper paperwork.
- Ensure orders are loaded, unloaded and accurately filled, counted and secured following all secure work requirements.
- Keep a Driver’s Daily Logbook up to date as per guidelines.
- Follow all traffic laws/DOT regulations.
- Be professional, courteous, and punctual with a focus on customer service.
- Other duties as required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

- Valid Class 1 driver’s licence required.
- Experience operating a manual transmission is required.
- Experience delivering building materials is considered an asset.
- Obtain and maintain a current driver’s abstract (issued within the last 3 months).
- Ability to do physical labour including lifting,



carrying (over 50 lbs.), bending repeatedly on a daily basis.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Forklift certification is considered an asset; in-house training available.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding working environment;
- Dependable, punctual, friendly, and organized, with a strong work ethic and excellent attendance.
- Reliable vehicle is required, as this is a non-bus route.

Working Conditions:

- Exposure to dust and extreme changes in temperature and weather when working outside year-round.
- Safety boots and safety equipment are required.
- Fast-paced, high-volume environment.
