Job Summary Job Title: Clinical Cardiologist Work Site: Vancouver General Hospital Status: Full-Time Start Date: September 1, 2025 Compensation Type: Fee-for-Service About the Position: The Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care (PHC) Divisions of Cardiology invite applications from outstanding Cardiologists with expertise in Clinical Cardiology for a full‑time position. This role is primarily based at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and may involve clinical work at St. Paul’s Hospital (SPH), both UBC‑affiliated teaching hospitals.

Candidates will manage an ambulatory general cardiology clinic, attend weekly Stat Clinic duties, and provide inpatient cardiology consult services.

Professional Focus: Candidates with a focused interest in General Cardiology—such as Cardiac Rehabilitation, Valve Diseases, Inflammatory Conditions, Pericardial Disease, Obesity, Addictions and Urban Health, Remote Outreach, Cardio‑Oncology, and Women’s Heart Health—will be considered more favorably. The Division values Indigenous Health, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Academic or health system expertise in Medical Education, Quality Improvement, Systems Management, Bioethics, Health Policy, or Clinical Innovation is desirable.

Academic Responsibilities: The Division operates an academic practice plan; the successful candidate is expected to contribute to it and may receive a supplementary stipend for exceptional academic work.



The role also includes an unpaid clinical faculty position at the University of British Columbia, supporting the growth of UBC Cardiology research and education programs.

Clinical Assistant

Professor or higher appointment is possible, subject to UBC promotion committee decisions.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess FRCPC designation in Internal Medicine and Cardiology (or equivalent), be eligible for licensure in British Columbia, and demonstrate effective communication, teaching potential at all levels, and collegiality. Desired experience includes clinical research or quality assurance projects.
