Position Summary
TheC02 Extractor Operator is a hands-on production role responsible for operating the CO2 extraction process and completing the associated processing steps required to produce finished extract products in a timely, consistent, and compliant manner. Associated steps include but are not limited to, grinding cannabis, Buchner Funneling and Roto Vaping crude cannabis oil, and all cleaning of used glass wares. This role supports production requirements for Gorilla Gardens and for contracted tolling partners, with the primary expectation that extraction output and related processing remain the employee’s priority to ensure success in achieving production targets.
Primary Responsibility The C02 Extractor Operator's primary responsibility is to process a target of 50,000 grams of extract material through the CO2 extractor each month and complete all required processing steps necessary to move material efficiently from input stage to final product.
Priority of Duties
1. First priority: Extraction production. Operate the CO2 extractor, complete related processing tasks, maintain production flow, and meet monthly extraction targets for Gorilla Gardens and tolling work.
2. Second priority: Operational support. Support packaging, cultivation, and other departments when assigned and when doing so does not interfere with extraction production requirements.
3. Third priority: Research and development. When not directly required for extraction production or assigned secondary duties, contribute to product development, process improvement, efficiency projects, and other R&D; work within the extraction department.
Key Responsibilities · Operate the CO2 extractor safely, consistently, and in accordance with company procedures.
· Assist in planning and claim ownership over executing extraction runs to support the monthly target of 50,000 grams of extract material processed.
· Complete all associated pre-processing, extraction, post-processing, handling, cleaning, and documentation tasks required to move material to finished product.
· Maintain accurate production records, batch information, material movement details, and other required documentation.
· Follow all applicable standard operating procedures, safety requirements, sanitation practices, and quality expectations.
· Monitor equipment performance, identify issues or inefficiencies, and communicate maintenance or troubleshooting needs promptly.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and production-ready extraction workspace.
· Coordinate with relevant team members to ensure extraction priorities, timelines, and product requirements are understood.
· Assist packaging, cultivation, or other departments assigned, provided extraction production remains the priority.
· Participate in R&D; activities related to new products, improved yields, improved workflows, and departmental efficiencies when time allows.
· Demonstrate professionalism,
accountability, reliability, and respect in daily work.
· Uphold Gorilla Gardens’ workplace standards, rules, safety expectations, and cultural tone through personal conduct and example.
Nice to Haves
· Relevant experience within cannabis production, extraction, processing, or a related production environment.
· Background in sciences, lab work, or other relevant operators experience.
· Working knowledge of CO2 extraction equipment, production workflows, and post-extraction processing requirements.
· Ability to follow SOPs, safety procedures, sanitation requirements, and quality expectations with consistency.
· Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and awareness of production timelines.
· Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment concerns or process inefficiencies.
· Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with management and team members.
· Willingness to support other departments when required while maintaining focus on extraction production priorities.
Success Measures
· Monthly extraction target of 50,000 grams of extract material is planned for and achieved where input material, equipment availability, and operational conditions allow.
· Secondary department support is provided when needed without compromising extraction priorities.
· R&D; contributions support new product opportunities, improved efficiencies, or stronger departmental performance.
Pay: $21.00-$31.00 per hour
