...you'll probably like working here. Olive Tree Builds is hiring an experienced Commercial Carpenter to build high-quality commercial spaces across the Greater Toronto Area.
This isn't a position for someone who needs to be supervised every hour.

What Winning Looks Like In Your First 90 Days
If you're the right person, within your first 90 days you will:
- Complete work independently with minimal supervision
- Consistently produce professional-quality workmanship
- Read and interpret construction drawings confidently
- Plan your work before beginning
- Identify problems before installation begins
- Complete work that passes inspection with minimal deficiencies
- Help improve productivity across the jobsite
- Become someone Site Leads trust with important scopes of work
What You'll Be Responsible For As a Commercial Carpenter, you'll perform skilled commercial construction work including:
Carpentry & Installation
- Commercial framing
- Layout and measurements
- Wall and opening construction
- Door jamb installation
- Door installation and adjustments
- Drywall installation and repairs
- Ceiling repairs
- Finish carpentry
- Baseboards and trim
- Millwork installation
- Cabinet installation
- Hardware installation
- Flooring installation
- Deficiency work
- Touch-ups and finishing
Planning & Problem Solving
- Reading construction drawings
- Verifying layouts before installation
- Planning tools and materials required for assigned work
- Identifying conflicts before beginning work
- Resolving basic site issues independently
- Coordinating work with Site Leads and Project Managers
Site Leadership
- Supporting junior employees
- Assisting with training newer workers
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas
- Protecting completed work
- Reporting issues early
- Maintaining Olive Tree Builds' quality standards

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience
- Commercial construction experience preferred
- Able to work independently
- Strong understanding of commercial construction practices
- Able to confidently read construction drawings
- Strong finish carpentry skills
- Reliable transportation
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
