Join our team as a Casual Community Support Worker. We have opportunities at day programs and staffed homes located in Ladner, Delta, Tsawwassen and Surrey. Morning, evening and weekend shifts are available, at a salary range between $27.53 - $31.57 per hour, plus 10.6% in lieu of perks.

About the Opportunity:

As a Casual Community Support Worker, you will be assigned shifts at day programs and/or staffed homes. You will be actively engaging supported individuals to live a fulfilling and independent life. You are a motivated and personable individual with a passion to deliver person-centred supports. This means you could be helping an individual to discover more of their community, learn new life-skills such as cooking, physical fitness activities, art classes, or seeking employment. You assist with their physical, social, emotional, educational and recreational needs.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Following an individual care plan,
- Developing monthly plans and facilitating activities based on client’s interests,
- Documenting activities and observations in the client’s file and communication log,




- Physically assist individuals with activities such as swimming and walking.
- Must be physically healthy to aid in lifting and transferring of persons served and be able to provide personal care including toileting and grooming.

Qualifications:

- Diploma in a field related to Human Sciences, or a combination of education and practical experience working with developmental and physical disabilities
- First Aid & CPR
- FOODSAFE Level 1
- Knowledge of community resources and recreational activities,
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with persons served and colleagues
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to promoting independence.
