Role Description The Content Editor is a part-time, remote role responsible for ensuring the quality, clarity, and consistency of written materials across Indigenous Energy Monitor’s platforms. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and editing articles, reports, and web content for accuracy, grammar, tone, and adherence to editorial guidelines. The role involves coordinating content workflows, maintaining content calendars, and collaborating with writers and researchers to refine drafts and align content with organizational goals.

Editor will also help optimize content for digital publication,



ensure inclusive and culturally respectful language, and support the team in producing transparent, accessible materials for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

- Strong editorial skills, including copyediting, substantive editing, and maintaining consistent style and tone.
- Experience with content management and workflow coordination, ideally using content management systems (CMS) or similar tools.
- Proficiency in web content writing and general writing, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and formats.
- Research skills to verify facts, interpret data, and support evidence-based content development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities on a part-time schedule.
- Understanding of, or interest in, Indigenous participation in energy and resource sectors is an asset.
- Experience in journalism, communications, public policy, energy, or related fields is beneficial; post-secondary education in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory, and culturally respectful communication practices.
