We are hiring a Cook to join our growing team at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care

Centre. We are seeking a casual Cook.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $28.02 to $29.05 per hour, with

7.5-hour shifts. Additionally, you will have access to the HOOPP Pension Plan and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This is for an existing vacancy.

Duties

Prepares and cook/bakes foods for residents/staff and visitors Follows recipes and all guidelines outlined in job duties Operates various equipment used in food preparation and service and ensures all safety/cleaning instructions are followed.

Responsible for ensuring foods have met all requirements for food service/storage and handling. (HACCP) Puts away stores making sure all items are in good condition and accounted for Performs audits/prepares food orders when required Ensures all staff are present and on duty in the absence of management.

Performs any other duties as assigned Qualifications:

Food Safety Certification Course.

Graduate of a formal accredited cooking course / License issued by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Experience in institutional cooking is preferred.

Ability to lift heavy pans/pots/groceries Ability to work in stressful situations and make decisions Bilingualism is an asset.





Participates in the Public Health Food Safety Awareness Program and Other recommended skills development programs.

Must be available to work all shifts.
