Retail Supervisor (Full-Time)

Locations: Granville Island & Gastown

MAKE is looking for a Retail Supervisor to join our retail leadership team.

This is a hands-on leadership role inside a creative company. While our environment is design-driven and inspiring, your focus will be leading the sales floor, supporting your team, driving results, and ensuring the store consistently delivers an exceptional customer experience.

A Day in the Role

- Lead by example in delivering a welcoming, engaging experience for every customer
- Support and motivate the sales team to achieve sales and service goals
- Coach team members on product knowledge, customer service, and selling techniques
- Ensure the store maintains exceptional visual merchandising, cleanliness, and organization
- Oversee restocking, merchandising, inventory accuracy, and daily operational tasks
- Open and close the store as a trusted keyholder, following all security and cash handling procedures
- Handle customer concerns professionally and confidently, escalating when appropriate
- Help coordinate daily priorities and keep the team focused during both steady and busy periods
- Support training and onboarding of new team members
- Lead with positivity, accountability, and professionalism while contributing to a strong team culture

Keyholder Responsibilities As a keyholder, you will be trusted with the day-to-day operation of the store. Responsibilities include:

- Opening and closing the store
- Cash handling, balancing tills, and end-of-day procedures
- Store security, alarm systems, and lock-up procedures
- Making sound decisions in the absence of senior management
- Ensuring company policies and operational standards are consistently followed

What We're Looking For

- 2+ years of retail experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Previous experience opening and closing a retail store as a keyholder
- Strong customer service and sales skills
- Comfortable coaching and motivating others while leading by example
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced retail setting
- Dependable, proactive, and comfortable making decisions independently
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required
