Director of Engineering and Technology

Location: Canada or United States (Remote) About the Role A leading enterprise software provider in a highly regulated industry is looking for a Director of Engineering and Technology to lead and scale a growing, multidisciplinary engineering organization. In this role you’ll:

Define and execute engineering strategy and long-term technical vision aligned to business goals; translate the roadmap into clear, measurable milestones

Own and mature development processes — sprint cadence, code/design reviews, CI/CD pipelines, documentation, and release management

Partner with Product Management and executive leadership to align technical execution with the product roadmap

Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, risks, and timelines clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing engineering talent; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Manage hiring plans and resource allocation across software, systems, and IT functions Experience:

10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including 2+ years in a people management role





Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, aviation/aerospace, financial services, life sciences, or similar)

Strong working knowledge of .NET/C# and a up-to-date front-end framework (e.g., React, Blazor)

Proven ability to build and enforce structured engineering processes: sprint cadence, design/code reviews, documentation, governance

Experience standing up or maturing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices

Experience with Agile tooling (Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or equivalent)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field Nice to Haves:

Familiarity with legacy codebases (VB.NET, classic ASP, or similar)

Familiarity with AI development lifecycle (AIDLC) Compensation: CAD $190,000–$220,000 AI in Hiring: Artificial intelligence tools may be used as part of the recruitment and selection process.
