Company Description The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) is an independent non-profit organization focused on preventing problem gambling and reducing gambling-related risks. Role Description The Education and Programs Ambassador is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role focuses on delivering responsible gambling education and outreach programs in a variety of community and stakeholder settings, including events, presentations, and workshops.
The Ambassador engages directly with participants, answering questions, facilitating discussions, and providing clear, accessible information about gambling risks and available supports. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing educational materials, setting up and staffing information booths, conducting training sessions, collecting feedback from program participants, and maintaining accurate records of outreach activities. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams to support program development,
coordinating with external partners and venues, and representing RGC professionally at public events.
Qualifications
- Robust Communication skills, including public speaking, presentation delivery, and the ability to explain complex information in clear, inclusive language.
- Experience in Education and Training, such as facilitating workshops, delivering curriculum or programs, or leading community-based learning initiatives.
- Proficiency in Customer Service, with demonstrated ability to engage diverse audiences, respond to inquiries empathetically, and build positive participant experiences.
- Background in Sales or outreach, including engaging passersby at events, encouraging participation, and promoting program offerings in a respectful, informative manner.
- Knowledge or interest in mental health, public health, or social services, particularly related to gambling, addictions, or community wellness.
- Ability to work on-site across the Greater Toronto Area, including occasional evenings and weekends to support events and programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail in scheduling, reporting, and handling program materials.
- Comfort working with diverse communities and cultures; additional language skills beyond English are an asset.
- Proficient with basic digital tools (e.g., email, presentation software, spreadsheets) for communication and tracking activities.
- Post-secondary education in education, social sciences, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
