Position #: 001342 Union: HSAS Facility: Kerrobert & District Health Centre City/Town: Kerrobert Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Casual FTE: 0 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No : Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and

Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice

Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority

(SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Competencies Written Communication Skills Verbal communication skills Conflict resolution skills Listening skills Basic - Computer skills Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.

Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is the largest employer in Saskatchewan,
