Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB)
Ottawa
About Us The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. Our nearly 150 schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students, parents, and the community at large. Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.
We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our team at Hawthorne Public School.
Hawthorne Public
School is a diverse school community that believes that relationships are central to excellence in learning. We strive to create a challenging, protected and caring environment where our students are encouraged to think critically, to act responsibly, and to be deeply curious about the world around them as they strive to achieve their full potential and to achieve their goals. As a school community, we believe in academic excellence, respect of self and others, and striving for continuous improvement.
We embrace Restorative Practices and Collaborative Problem Solving as approaches when challenges arise, and we work hand in hand with our parent and larger community to support our students. Students are the reason we are here, and Hawthorne staff strive to develop learning opportunities that are based on student voice and interest in order to maximize engagement. Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment.
Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully,
with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.
