About Moby

Moby (Western Fibre Communications Corp) is a Calgary-based fibre network operator scaling from a strong regional base toward a nationwide Canadian telco. We build and operate fibre internet, TV, and voice services across residential, commercial, and bulk/hospitality markets — and we're re-engineering how the business runs so that software agents handle routine work while our people supervise, audit, and own the exceptions.

Why this role exists

Moby is scaling from a strong regional base toward a national Canadian telco, and we're investing ahead of that growth. We've made a deliberate decision to consolidate onto a single modern platform, retire the legacy tools that got us this far, and redesign our operating model around AI from day one — rather than bolting automation onto yesterday's processes. It's a rare mandate: transformation-scale architecture inside a company with real customers, real revenue, and real momentum.

We're looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect to own the target-state architecture and, hands-on, make it real. This is a builder's architecture role, not an ivory-tower one.

What you'll do

- Set the architecture: Own the target-state enterprise architecture across business, data, application, and technology — and the roadmap to get there.
- Lead the migration: Lead the consolidation onto a single modern platform, including the migration of billing, provisioning, and CRM off legacy systems — with correctness non-negotiable on the financial path.
- Engineer an agent-first model: Design how AI works inside our operations: what agents decide within guardrails, and where our people supervise, audit, and own the exceptions.
- Build to scale: Establish the data, integration, security,

and platform standards that let Moby scale nationally with confidence.
- Lead the team: Provide hands-on technical leadership to our internal team and raise its capability as you go.

What you bring
- Experience: 6+ years in enterprise or solution architecture (or a senior technical lead / staff engineer moving into architecture), spanning business process, data, application, and infrastructure. We care more about demonstrated skill and leadership than years — a track record of delivering, not just advising. Hands-on, not a pure coder.
- ERP & migration: Deep ERP and large-scale migration experience. Odoo preferred, or comparable enterprise platforms (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Salesforce, Dynamics).
- Correctness-critical systems: Experience architecting billing, payments, or other systems where correctness is non-negotiable.
- Agentic AI & context engineering: Practical experience designing AI and agentic systems — with real depth in context engineering (how you structure context, memory, retrieval, and guardrails so agents perform reliably) — and an honest, clear-eyed view of where AI excels and where it breaks down.
- Data, integration & security: Sound judgment on master data, integration patterns, security, and technical risk.
- Communication & leadership: Able to translate between executives and engineers, lead a small technical team, and make decisive build-vs-buy calls.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,

Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience. We weigh demonstrated results and depth over credentials.

Nice to have
- Telecom / ISP / MSP domain experience — billing, provisioning, CRM, and field service.
- Experience standing up architecture and governance inside a fast-scaling company.
- Relevant certifications a plus — enterprise architecture (e.g. TOGAF) or cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Contract details
- Term: 6-month contract engagement, with strong potential to convert to a permanent role based on performance and fit.
- Location: Calgary, AB — hybrid, with some on-site collaboration.
- Team: Reports into Projects & Field Operations and works closely with our internal DevOps, systems, and engineering team.
