The Opportunity
BCASW is seeking a highly organized, warm and proactive Executive Assistant & Member Experience Coordinator to help create a responsive, welcoming and well-organized experience for members while supporting the Executive Director and Association operations. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys people, systems, details and meaningful work in a small-team environment.
What You Will Do
Member experience
· Responsible for member experience
· Support recruitment, onboarding, renewals, retention and member-benefit inquiries.
· Help improve the member journey across career stages and practice areas.
Executive and office support
· Provide direct administrative support to the Executive Director.
· Coordinate scheduling, meetings, travel, correspondence and documents.
· Provide office coverage, records, vendors, supplies and basic financial administration.
Board and volunteer support
· Coordinate logistics for Board, Executive, committee, branch and Community of Practice meetings as directed.
· Prepare meeting materials and support action tracking, minutes and governance files.
Communications and systems
· Assist with newsletters, social media, job postings, website updates and member-facing materials.
· Maintain CRM/database records and generate reports as needed.
· Support online forms, surveys, payment systems and virtual meeting tools.
Events, CPD and growth
· Support Social Work Week, webinars, CPD, conferences and member engagement events.
· Support projects related to membership growth, partnerships, advertising and revenue diversification.
Team and values
· Work respectfully with members, volunteers, Board members, contractors and partners.
· Support confidentiality, equity, anti-racism, reconciliation and social work values.
What You Bring
Education and experience
· Social Work degree is preferred.
· Related education in social work, public administration, nonprofit management, business administration, communications, office administration, human services or equivalent experience will be considered.
· Three to five years of relevant experience.
· Experience with member service, senior leadership, Boards, committees, volunteers or governance processes is an asset.
Skills and systems
· Excellent telephone, written and interpersonal communication skills.
· Strong organization, judgment, confidentiality and attention to detail.
· Comfort with CRM/database systems, websites, email platforms, Zoom/Teams and Microsoft Office.
· Commitment to equity, inclusion, anti-racism, reconciliation and social work values.
